今天我和妈妈在八街坊看到一条小河，小河特别脏，河水像倒了许多浓墨似的，很黑很黑。河面上漂浮着一层油，河面上还躺着许多塑料袋、杯子等。河水很臭，阵阵臭味直往我鼻孔里钻，小河无声地流淌着，像在偷偷哭泣。我问妈妈，河水为什么这么脏?
妈妈告诉我，以前这条小河很干净，很美丽。河水很清很清，里面有许多小鱼在水里自由自在地游来游去。河水很甜很甜，吸引了许多小鸟来喝水。水里还有许多水生植物，充满了生机。后来，这条小河被人们弄脏了，人们把大量的`生活垃圾都倒在了河里，工厂把大量的废水都排进了河里，水里的小鱼都被毒死了，小鸟再也不敢来喝水了。从此，小河再也没有生机了。
听了妈妈的这些话，我感到非常可惜。我想：以后人们再也不能把生活垃圾倒进水里了，工厂再也不能把废水排进河里了。我们每个人都要爱护身边的环境，使我们身边的环境更加美丽。
